I’m Thaís Mesquita, a Brazilian KidLit illustrator and mixed-media artist working in publishing and concept art. Currently, I am a freelancer and live in a small city in the heart of Germany.
What is this newsletter about?
My illustrated life is a project that started in 2014 when I first began sharing my illustration work on social media. However, I wanted to share more than just my images and work process. A significant part of my inspiration comes from my references, personal interests, books, objects I come across, people I meet, and movies I watch.
I found the limitations of social media to be quite restricting for what I wanted to achieve with My Illustrated Life. Consequently, I decided to set it aside. Now, almost 10 years later, I feel it's the right time to revive it, just as I always intended.
I still don't have a clear vision of what will come from this, but I hope that the idea will evolve and surprise me in the end.
How often will you hear from me?
Well, initially, not too frequently. I will drop by here whenever I have something worth sharing with you.
